Do what I did...

Say that acting is a form of lying, and that pretending to be someone is for children. Also say that you could never trust an actor as they might be lying to you. Say that those types of people are fakes.

It worked for me. She soon called off our engagement, but at least I didn't have to watch her making a fool of herself acting on a stage.
