Reassuring that Ep3 picks up - but I was just rolling me eyes in Ep1. As if the kids would be allowed to just wonder around alone among a queue of cars with corpses in.

And really... what has the boy being shot actually got to do with anything? Nothing to do with the walkers, nothing to do with any panic or heightened state of tension. Just 'Ooops, sorry'. Absolutely screams a story with nowhere to go. What a shame.

Your point about Breaking Bad is well made. Same with Boardwalk Empire. So rich and layered. WD is pailing by comparison.
