Drink killed Cloughie star
A FORMER footballer drank himself to death aged 31 ? after he was dropped by his club.
Jason Kaminsky was signed for Nottingham Forest by legendary manager Brian Clough, who became a "father figure" to the young striker.
He played up front for Forest in 1992. But when Cloughie left the club he was released.
Jason's brother Stephen, 23, said: "It knocked the stuffing out of him. He just couldn't cope so he started drinking heavily."
He started a landscape gardening business but still fought depression.
Jason turned down the chance to play for non-league Burton Albion after being approached by manager Nigel Clough ? Cloughie's son.
Stephen added: "He was hit hard when Brian Clough died last year. He idolised him and they stayed in touch over the years and his death really knocked Jason for six."
His drinking spiralled out of control after his dad and grandad died.
Then he split from Taressa Potter, 30 ? mum of his daughter Leia, 11.
Jason, of Leicester, died from liver failure after eight weeks in hospital.
Forest's chief executive Mark Arthur said: "We are saddened to hear of Jason?s death. He is fondly remembered here."
