i agree that a worldwide solution to this is preferable

i disagree that it is a very bad idea should the UK go it alone

that's the banks scaremongering and lobbying for their own narrow interests - you should no more believe all they tell you than you believe all that a celebrity Robin Hood tax campaigner tells you
