Ruddy's probably cost us two goals this season. Hardly horrendous especially when you consider the number of blunders Cech, De Gea and Szchezney have made this season. Even Michel Vorm (who is arguably this seasons best EPL keeper on current form) has had a couple spazzy moments.
Mind you, I'm not keen on this England call up bandwagon. Once an English goalkeeper is under the spotlight the pressure on them becomes overly intense. Rather than concentrating on having a good game for Norwich every week Ruddy will be getting distracted by the high demands of the media. That's when mistakes start happening more regularly and become over anailysed. Regardless of how well he plays for Norwich, one mistake in a friendly at Wembley will lead to media labels that are hard to shake of such as 'England blunder keeper John Ruddy'. Happened to Robinson, Carson and Green who were all good keepers before their respective downfalls. Robinson has only just recently got over it. Green is slowly recovering in the champs while Carson looks unlikely to ever get over his mistake against Croatia. I don't blame Ben Foster for retiring! Hopefully Ruddy will keep his focus on what's truely important, playing for Norwich.
