Supporters were particularly upset Pattison had been out on the town in the wake of the 2-0 defeat at Sheffield United, leaving the Canaries worryingly close to the relegation zone.
But Roeder last night said: "I have spoken to him and the other players to say that he will be getting our full support.
"We are a family and there's not one person at the club who hasn't made a mistake.
"He is upset with himself and we fully realise just how serious this is.
"He regrets what he has done and will have to live with it for the rest of his life.
