So the question you are really asking is, 'how would you feel if a load of criminals moved in next door', rather than, 'how would you feel if a load of travellers moved in next door', because you are assuming the travellers would be criminals.

Just because someone might not like a group of criminals moving in next door, does not mean that they necessarily would have a problem with travellers moving in, because they might not see all travellers as criminals, as you do.
