Clearly I'm not expecting you to change your opinions

but I'm presuming you'd rather live in a state where there is no government support for the less well off; just so that the few who may abuse the system (and every society has some) no longer have the opportunity to do so and then turn to more serious crime?

Funny how you don't see the abuse of the system by those that conform to your world view as well.
