From the players PL bought over the summer he was looking to move away from the diamond and add more width.
But I dont think even he thought our current system would be the one which would work so well.
We started the season at Wigan with a battering ram offence of Holt and Morison which to some was surprising
In that game we got to see how mobile Morison was when his run set up our goal.
The defeat vs WBA made PL act in a number of key areas.
Dropping Holt, De Laet, Crofts and Surman
Morsion and R Martin have been a revelation plus the two wingers have worked really hard at both ends.
As long as the team continues to play well and pick up points the players know they will probably keep their places.
I personally think Tierney is the player of the season so far.
Hasnt looked out of place at all.
The boo boys were out for R Martin after the Wigan game but f**k me if that guy continues to prove people wrong by slotting in at CB perfectly.
Im guessing we will send Whitbread and Ward out on loan to the champs for a while after they recover from injury.
Having Martin and De Laet as defensive options means we can free up another attacking option on the bench.
The defenders who can play multiple positions are the new breed in the premier league.
Overall I dont see too many weak links with the current 18 player match day squad.
We have a nice balance of quality options.
I think we have enough quality to stay up without a doubt.
Nothing has changed my mind that there are still 6-7 teams worse than us.
