but, just in case, after basic training at hereford, those going into certain troops of the sas end up at brize norton to receive parachute training ( the RAF conduct all the para training for all forces, even the para's themselves) - so in the mess you get a mixture of about 600 raf, pongoes, bootnecks and sas...

I was in a rush and asked to sit in a spare place at the end of a bench to eat, the table was mostly full of young guys in combat gear....

I only noticed the beige berets of the sas stuffed into their pockets when i upped and left.... some of them didnt look long out of school!
