I mean, you're right - Barton is a really good footballer. And that's why he keeps on getting jobs despite a CV which in most other walks of lilfe wouldn't get him an interview - he happens to be very good at something at which not many people are very good, and which generates a lot of money.

BUT - and it's a massive but - he is really obnoxious. Anyone capable of stubbing a cigar into a trainee's eye is just utterly beyond the norms of human interaction. So despite his talent with a ball, I would have thought that any smart manager - and I've always thought of Warnock as very smart - wouldn't touch him.
