I know someone who's collaborating with her on a paper

Well I say collaborating, the way she described it she got wind that my friend was working on this paper, fancied getting her name on it so asked if they could 'work' together, though in fact she'll hardly contribute. Of course it benefits my friend because she gets extra exposure but it's still pretty shocking practice. Academia is nowhere near as transparent as they'd have you believe.
