Brighton formation?

Could someone please confirm the formation we used on Saturday. I only listened on the radio and assumed we played 442 but others have said it was 4312 or the diamond.
I find it strange that people put our recent improvement down to playing the 4312 because we definately played 442 against Hull.
Assuming it was 442 on Sat, I don't think it is a coincidence that we our playing better now that Hux has returned to left midfield.
