Well, he's right, according to the asylum stats from Oxford University I just found.

But I don't see what the problem is there.

Very many times more asylum seekers are found to have no legitimate claim, and are sent on their way, than are found to have a legitimate claim to political asylum and let in.

Where's the problem there? - "spurious" asylum seekers are turned away, and don't get to claim their free BMW, swan, and five-bedroom house.

People who have real genuine need of political asylum are welcomed into the country, because we're a (mostly) grown-up, civilised, responsible state, not in the main prone to an "Ugh! Foreigners!" reaction, and they, in the overwhelming majority, go on to pay taxes and contribute to the economy.

Apparently that's something to froth on about like a rabid c**t.

I do not get it.
