LCD screen. Personally I'd go for the D3100. I will say though that consider buying a second hand one... I know you are not in Norwich but Philips Cameras (next to Ribs of Beef) has a shot load of second hand as new DSLRs. Great prices and he will always knock something off the displayed price even without you asking.
