Cos Huckerby was on the bench, and Gibbs played in midfield

that's where the comparison laid at the time

I didn't know that about Bertrand against Bury (us and cups I pay very little attention to, because we don't seem to pay any attention to them)

Bertrand was as green as you could ever be (starting debut) against Barnsley. In the first half he was working out how to play with Croft (I think), and there were times when he was there for the taking if their winger got the chance to run at him

Then second half he came into it, and cos we attacked Barnsley quite well, he was coming over the half way line and getting involved

I just remember being pleased for him after that game, cos it was a win, and nothing was his fault, and played there for a while
