There are some fascinating characters across the spectrum in the 19th century - Disraeli (a man I loathe, but certainly engaging as a historical figure), Gladstone, Parnell, and Robert Peel is particularly interesting. Might take out my 2nd Year notes and have another look through!
I'm obsessed with the 20th century though, across the world.
Did you study the History of Ideas at all, btw? Because that was the highlight of my degree - European Intellectual History from Rousseau to Freud. Never enjoyed studying something so much in all my life ...
