He did go up a bit in my opinion how he diverted the question

cos the interviewer tried to suggest they nearly got something out of the game, and he just said maybe, but then switched it round and said we had them on the ropes for most of the game and his team didn't do enough to even consider why they lost

The interviewer sort of gave up pressing him after that, and Bruce said thanks, head bowed down, as if to say "I've got no fight for that, Norwich won, the end"
