I got given Lee Child's first Jack Reacher novel on World Book Night.

Only got round to reading it the other week. Hugely enjoyable, but I don't think I'd make a point of reading all the others - maybe try the 2nd one to see if I like it a bit better and the 1st. Bit of a pot boiler. Thought a lot of the story was telegraphed too: when a character was introduced I often predicted exactly how they would inform the story that was being played out. I don't like that - I like being surprised.
