Hmm. Neither shouting "Read Me You Fool" at me. However, if you like the AA guy's book

you might like "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey - by and about a guy who rejected the AA approach to battling addiction, but still beat it.

Mind you there's a bit of the Johann Hari about it in that once you find out that he "made up" or "exaggerated" some parts of it, he loses much of his credibility. But even as a work of partial fiction, it's still a brutal and difficult but rewarding read.
