I thought about it this year on loan for one reason, which is that he DOES still have

something to prove.

But I think all the rest of the baggage is probably too much. And yes, probably out of our financial league.

But the lad is and always has been a goalscorer. I can imagine had Chelsea taken a punt on him instead of Shevchenko and Torres (although that might change of course), he'd have delivered a far better goal-per-pound ratio.
