FAO geek squad

Having unpacked a PC, set it up and plugged it in, the f***ing thing won't recognise the wireless keyboard and wireless mouse that it's been operating happily with for 2 years. I've found a USB cable mouse and that works - but of course I can't fire it up to see what's going on in its little head till I enter the password and I can't enter the password till I can get the keyboard working and I can't find a plug in keyboard anywhere

Any ideas?

For the avoidance of doubt I have already done a smell up the USB, turned it off and turned it on again, and asked jafski (the useless hairy tosser)
