i was doing a stint watching colchester united. the oppo keeper looked vaguely familiar to those of us crammed (ahem) in behind the goal. a local suggested that he might be george wood, once of arsenal and scotland fame...

"who's the keeper?" someone else replied, perhaps slightly hard of hearing... the policeman at the front helped him out, "he's the fat f**ker in the green shirt".
