I couldn't bring myself to do it as

the game would try its best to be controversial

It did have a strong referee on it, and even though I don't normally agree with the decisions he made (handball, lampards cruel tackle gerrard then his lunge on two players that eventually got him booked, how the hell alonso was still on the field, drogbas foul on hyppia for a pen......) the situation of the game meant he was incredibly consistent in not letting either side have that controversial moment that would have let the game boil over

Was quite clever reffing as the edge was there for ninety minutes

Not many refs would have handled that well I don't think
