interesting convo on radio five the other night re players out of contract....

when a player is released they get one months money for the four weeks after they are released. Except if they join a club, in which case they only get up to when they find new employment.
This is why many players don#t find new clubs until after 31st July as they take the extra month and money and then you get a rush of people taking new offers.
