I thought it was all a bit hackneyed

Hardly cutting edge investigative journalism. It was clear long ago that the cost of going to a football match doesn't necessarily correlate with league position. Also, including tea and pies seems ridiculous - I haven't bought food or drink (other than bears) at a ground for a long time. Of course they're overpriced, but there's nothing stopping you bringing a thermos and a pasty from mozza's.
