With luck and good play we'll get used to it in time

Back when I was a babe in arms in the mid-50s, floodlights were just coming in and early kick offs on Saturday in mid-winter were normal. Not that I went to any then. I do remember a City cup game in the 70s at the Dell kicking off early afternoon due to a power strike. Quite a few people got in trouble for bunking off school.

I do like evening matches though the travel is tiring, particularly when we used to lose a lot. I am moving to Southampton next month and getting back on a midweek night is probably going to be a bit too much. Early kick offs might mean a night in a hotel is better too.
