Mobile Phone...

iPod isn't an "invention" it's a brand...
MP3/Digital Music players are just like a CD or Cassette player, except they hold more than both and is better quality than the latter.

I see MP3/Digital Music players as a somewhat natural progression on from the CD players.

Laptops are all good, except they are as much an inconvenience as they are a convenience, and only a select amount of people are going to require them.

Not to mention they are less powerful than a desktop.

Mobile phones have taken the normal phone and made it better, added features and portable at the same time. They are small nowadays and convenient - some people have done away with the humble landline alltogether.

Everyone can have a mobile phone, and most can use a mobile phone.
