Waccoe - re: our signings

I know we aren't exactly pulling up trees with our signings but you have to be worried if your are a Norwich fan going into the premiership with the signings they've made - Vaughan, Morison, De Laet, Johnson and soon to be Pilkington.

These are all Championship players at best (Pilkington possibly could be good enough for top level)

Ranging from good League 1 players to average Championship players.

Then again, they got promoted last season with the likes of Wilbrahim and Simeon Jackson. Lambert seems to be some sort of footballing god at the moment. I really hope he loses that status and they come crashing straight back down but truth be told, I think he'll keep them up.

the players they signed last season didnt look good onpaper and looked what happened

good manager that lambert and if blackpool can go close to staying up then im sure they can

I did think that myself - not exactly tried and tested in terms of Prem.

Although should they not come straight back down (i do expect them to) then Lambert will have done a mighty fine job, proved his credentials .....and be moving on when the next job offer comes in

Good point. Can you imagine the barrage of abuse that Grayson and Bates would have got if we had signed these players after promotion. DELIA OUT!

You do have to try and stay up though. I'm not saying that they should break the bank or anything, just sign some players with premier league experience. The two strikers they've signed probably aren't even as good as the two that played up front for them last season - just seems a bit strange

Lambert has made 7 new signings each year at each team he's been at, and each time, the 7 new signings have completely reinvigorated the team.
Disliked the guy, as a football player, even though he was really good, dislike him as a manager, even though he's really good. Have every faith Norwich will do okay next season though.

No disrespect but Lambert took L1 players and got promoted from the championship to premiership. He is now taking championship players and it wouldnt surprise me if he ends up in the top 4......

Seriously, there are good players playing outside of the top flight. You just have to have a keen eye for the talent and not rely on the judgement of others and the glare of the premiership. Lambert was either lucky or has that keen eye, since his L1 signings helped him to get to the prem.

I just wish Grayson would have looked at hungry lower league players that fitted the style of play he wants rather than trying to pick up scraps off 'the big boys' that are over fed, then trying to fit them into some form of system.

know we don't give a 'bugger' about Norwich but it is interesting to see how they operate because really with the right management from the top we could have been where they are now
