i used to do that

when i was little i was a bit of a dreamer and often I would suddenly find myself with the ball in front of an open goal and i would smack it in the net. I would start celebrating and then would get decked by my team-mates. it was then that i'd remember that we had changed ends. the fact that i was left-back should have helped me to realise this, but it never did.

and when i was very young, if the ball came towards me in the air i would sometimes catch it.

They stuck me in the goal in the end.
