that's not a problem though

new sports - say, BMX racing - have a decent case to be included, if they're gaining in popularity and they're exciting to watch. I imagine that pretty quickly, an Olympics gold would be the thing to aim at.

But mature sports, where you have well established elite international tournaments - like rugby, football, tennis - have no case to be included. (Apart from the IOC's quest to make more money.) And indeed it devalues the Olympics if they do get included.

So my rule's nice and robust.
