the respect thing is huge

can make up for some dodgy man-management as long as you feel that the person leading you knows what they are talking about. For me to respect them as my manager I don't have to find them a nice person or respect them outside of work, just need to know that they know their s**t on what they are managing me on.

Although I hate being managed which is why I've avoided work in an office for the best part of 2 years and now going into teaching for a bit.
