yeah, that's the problem with where football has ended up

they've got a massive debt. So if they don't get promoted sharpish they're screwed.

Therefore - they may as well take on even more debt to gamble all. It's not actually much of a risk for them, seeing as they're f*cked whatever happens if they don't go back up.

Instead it's just unfair on the other teams in the champs, who're not paying those kinds of salaries because they don't want to put their clubs' futures on the line.

Screwed up system.
