Bogarde was signed when Vialli was manager - allegedly by Colin Hutchinson (our, then, director of football) Vialli apparently knew shag all about it!
Anyway, Luca got the boot, Ranieri took over and within a couple of months of Bogarde signing his contract he was told he was surplus to requirements.
Madness, really, he was a decent player - was still a Dutch international at the time - and very few Chelsea fans begrudge what he did. He was treated like a child, made to train with the reserves, or alone. Pathetic way to treat anyone.
