he has to have an excuse to keep it out of the tabloids

a sprained ankle that *could* need surgery is a pretty good cover for a week or two. I expect the ankle surgeon to say he doesn't need to be operated, and then worthy will say that he needs a couple of weeks complete rest to get over it.
