Ken Bates was summed up for me by a documentary I saw

Some ex-chelsea star from the 70s and generally nice bloke (can't remember who now) went to the Stamford Bridge as was "backstage" somewhere where all the directors and players etc have a bevvy. Ken bates saw him, said "who're you", he said I'm that ex player, and without another word Bates called security over and had him physically booted out
