I think Ridgewell would be excelllent but........

as you said they have a hefty wage bill at Brum and he is probably on a fair wedge.
Would be a great player to have as he can also play LB

I think we would have to push the boat out.

Also not sure he quite fits the Lambert mold of hungry players looking to step up.
