I use RunKeeper on my phone for tracking and keeping a record, and the watch for races/eve

nts.

The iPhone is not great for finding out what my exact pace is right now - RunKeeper does do it, but I'd have to pull it round my arm, unlock it, find the right button, and then either squint at the readout on my upper arm (not easy, especially while running at pace in a big crowd of other punters) or listen to it in my ears - but lots of events ban earphones anyway, ruling that out.

But if I'm trying to run a distance in a particular time, either in training or an actual race, I need to keep regular track of my pace - for which the Garmin is perfect - just a quick glance down at my wrist.

I think it's the Garmin 205 - the bottom of the range - but it's very good. On reflection I think I'd have rather got the one with the heart monitor though.
