I worked for a company, a number of years ago, that was preparing itself to float on the one of the stock markets. A tech one. The Nasdaq or some s**t like that.

In a desperately transparent attempt to keep the staff on-side despite being complete c**ts to us in every material aspect, one of the directors sat us down to have a chat about "money", becuase we were all about to become very "rich" once the company floated. He was concerened that we were all going to go "WUH! MASERATI!" once we got our mits on the money that was in no way ever in any possible reality going to find its way to us worker drones.

I enjoyed walking out on that outfit.

They never floated, obviously. They eventually got bought by BT who subsequently kicked out all of the directors for gross misconduct (those that were't incompetent were on the take to one degree or another).

Shame.
