and it amazes me how people's opinions change EVERY week. We played really well and dominated most of the match against the Scum, were solid and did what we needed to do against Northampton and we did EVERYTHING but score against Reading. They didn't have many chances and if our strikers were sharp/not concussed, we would have taken at least a point from that game. Someone said earlier why didn't we take off Ashton and put the Doc upfront. I'd rather have put Huckerby or Henderson up front with Lisbie (Only in those circumstances though), rather than bring Fleming back in at the back and risk conceding even more. Worthington got everything right yesterday until bringing McVeigh off when everyone knew it shoud have been Lisbie. He was right to leave Huckerby on the bench to start with. Yes he has played well in the last 2 games but how many of you have all said you shouldn't change a winning team?? What if he had started Huckerby and we'd lost? Then you'd be on his back for that again. He was right to give the same 11 that were out against Ipswich their chance to perform again. In the first half I think everyone except Brennan and Davenport looked really solid, and Deano was looking sharp until his clash of heads. The McVeigh substition was crazy and I can understand people moaning about that. He was workinghard, closing people down and doing a bloody sight more than Brennan (Brennan had played well consistently before this game - just didn't look quite as sharp yesterday.) If I was Worthington I'd play the following team on Tuesday night.
Green
Colin-Doc-Davenport-Drury
Hughes-Safri-Brennan
McVeigh
Ashton-Hucks
McVeigh and Hucks could keep swapping round if Hucks pushed out wide, with McVeigh pushing into the hole he leaves upfront next to Ashton.
Subs: Ward, Shackell, Henderson, Lisbie, Jarrett
If we play as well as we did against Reading then we will beat Hull. They have lost their captain all season with ligament damage and also one of their central defenders. Keep the faith and we will pull through. I still think we are turning the corner, just Saturday was on of those days where we were just never going to have any luck.
