Film recommendation: Lebanon (2009)

I've just watched this, motionless and unblinking. It all takes place inside an Israeli tank, on the 1st day of the Lebanon war in 1982.

There are four guys inside, with occasional visits from others. We can only see outside through the tank's crosshairs: we are ordered (screamed at) to fire a shell when what we can see makes us not wish to, and we are fired upon.

It may not fully bring home all the emotions involved in being in a battle situation, but it's close enough for an old fat civvy like me. Oh - and it's in Forrin, too, so even Tombs might look at it.

Shudder, basically. I thank my lucky stars.
