Seriously, now........ (and I may need armour)....

Are things really THAT bad?

Personally, though things certainly aren't good at all, I do think that they aren't as bad as they seem.

Clearly we'd all hope to be higher up the league and playing smooth football. And yes, we were pre-season favourites to win this division. But I do believe that those people who installed us as favourites were probably the same people who couldn't name five of our players last year - and we must also recognise that (rightly or wrongly) Worthy has given us a new midfield pretty much all in one go.

Leaving aside the question of whether or not such a radical change was a good idea - it wasn't - that does mean that our vital creative area is still finding its feet. This will improve as time goes on.

Sorry, but I have no heart to continue with this Devil's Advocate thing at the moment. I'm as f**ked off as everyone else. What I'm trying to get to is that he's f**ked up a bit but it's not necessarily the end, of our season or of his reign.

Me, I don't like the guy, and haven't ever really been convinced - but then that's easy to say at the moment.

I didn't like his "Nigel Worthington likes a challenge!" thing on the balcony, nor his other comments to the crowd. I got the definite impression that he thought the promotion was ALL his work, and that the Prem season was all about HIM and not his team. And now that things aren't working, I think we're seeing the downside of such a personality. The team seems to be a representation of the player he used to be.

Look - I think there's a point to be argued here, so maybe I'll try it again later in the week. For now, f**k it.
