What I want from this football club

is a Board that will sometime entertain the idea that no manager, despite past successes, is irreplaceable.

Worthington's personality doesn't bother me in the slightest - if he's the man for the job, as he was before last season, then I couldn't care less how uncharismatic he is and what decisions I disagree with. He has played football at the top level and managed a club, neither of which I have.

There comes a time though when everyone goes stale in a job like that - Dave Jones at Wolves, Burley at Ipswich, Peter Reid at Sunderland. The list is endless.

We've now had one and a bit seasons of s**t - almost bearable last season when we had just got promoted (although West Ham and Wigan are disproving the notion that all clubs promoted to the top flight need to be s**t for at least a little while), and I want the Board to at least think the unthinkable. That even Worthington might have passed his sell-by date and can be replaced.

I know of no business that keeps people in a job based on what they did two years ago, especially a football club.
