Until Lambert has an idea of who he wants or gets in he may not have fully decided on who goes and who stays.

I am also think those players who have no future have already been told.

They might have a better market value (ie can demand more wages/betterv deal) if they have not been released.

It can give the impression we still want them.

Nelson got a much better deal in Jan than he would have now.
