I dont agree..........

The guy scored 9 goals in 30 apps last season in the champs in a struggling team.

A certain Connor Dickham scored 9 in 41 apps........

As already stated its probably not 2.5 million up front.

Given his past history of injuries a lot of the fee may be tied to things like, appeareances, us staying in the PL, finishing in the top 6, winning the FA Cup, qualifying for Europe ect ect. all kinds of silly stuff that will probably never happen.

Its not like we are paying 35 million for Andy Carroll or 50 mill for Torres.

I think the going rate for a decent champs striker is in the 1-4 million range.
Anything less and you have to start looking at LG1 and LG2

The guy is also still very young at 22.....hasa lot of upside potential and possible resale value if things go well.

If we signed a player like CMS for the same money...in two years he will be close to 30 so would have less resale value.
