Diamond formation

This is turning into another example of Worthy not learning from the past. The diamond is a defensive formation unless you have full backs who get forward(we have Drury, oh dear). It's no surprise that we have kept clean sheets because that is what the diamond gives you. But it also gives you the inability to create chances, get crosses in or even to get into goalscoring positions. We used it last season against Spurs and Villa and we got two 0-0 draws. I know a lot of people will say it worked against Ipswich but only because they had 10 men, and we still only scored one goal. And I thought they dominated the 2nd half.
Please play 442 with Hux on the left, Marney on the right and Mcveigh up front.
And a word about the subs today. I know plenty of teams throw a defender up front at the end of games, but I can't remember a team ever bringing on another defender to cover them. At one point Doc was up front on his own with Ashton, Hux and Hendo back defending. Makes no sense to me.
God I couldn't stop myself there.
