and ran up massive debts, his wife, who was also a teacher at the same school, wasn't very impressed and divorced him.

after he 'came back to his senses' he had to take on a number of paper-rounds (while still working as a teacher at my school) in order to pay off his debts

ended up on Watchdog complaining of not being paid for doing his paper rounds
