I bought my own UK VPN a while back so I dont need expat shield.

Its actually very uesful in many ways to have.

You dont have to worry about connecting to unknown wifi hotspots if you use a VPN.

All traffic is encryppted before being sent to the UK server.

They can ban proxy services like expat shield but VPNs are pretty undetectable if you set them up correctly.
Because you have your own private IP address its unlikley to get banned or blocked like the popular services.
