it might well be the wisest decision.

Deducting 10 points this season wouldn't matter to them anyway if they win on Saturday. Well, we'd be champs on paper but they'd still go up automatically, know they were champs and not give a s**t about the money considering they are loaded.

Dropping them into the playoffs might anger the other playoff teams who would see them as a "stronger" opponent than the team pushed from playoffs to auto.

If it is from this season, they would most likely still get promoted and then just buy their way to safety next year. Huge fines are also useless as they are so rich, so a points penalty next season is the one punishment which would make them feel some pain (and have to work even harder to solve).
