But Mason deemed it as last man and worthy of a card. The rules are pretty straight on this, if you think it's last man and a card, it's red
There's no inbetween. If he'd just given a foul, he could state that he just thought it was a foul. To go for a card implies intent of being last man
So Mason went against protocol and yellowed him
That's why managers and coaches show so much aggression towards officials, because they don't exercise the rules when they're supposed to, and go silent when they cock up. When they do speak, they hide behind interpretation
